Catch Live Action Movies and Series in Animax´s New Programming Line-up of “Themed Nights”

Mumbai, 13 August, 2007 - Animax, the premium animation channel for the Indian youth, satiates the dynamic needs of the viewers by packing a brand new punch, infused with a dose of adrenaline! Starting this August, Animax adopts a new programming strategy encompassing “Themed Blocks” and for the first time in the history of Animax worldwide, the introduction of live action movies and series.

Animax is the pioneer in offering the best animated content straight from Japan, which has become a global phenomenon in recent years. This is the first time live action is on Animax and the action kicks off on our new themed night “Big Movie Monday”, with blockbuster hits like Spider-Man 2 and Hell Boy, along with animated movies like Innocence and Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children. The specially selected live-action movies complement the existing animation line-up on Animax, with titles such as Spider-Man 2 and Hell Boy being visual adaptations of popular comic series. As many popular animation titles like Appleseed and Innocence are also adaptations of popular manga series, viewers can expect a visual feast from both the live-action and animated movies, with lots of special effects, fantastic computer graphics and awesome CGI creating an unforgettable cinematic experience on “Big Movie Monday” on Animax.

Sport addicts also have something geared for them on Animax in “Sporty Tuesday”, which showcases the best of animated sports series like Rink of Glory, Dear Boys and Initial D ~ First Stage. Be sure not to miss all the high-octane sports action, nail-biting suspense and the exhilaration of competition that will get your adrenaline pumping, only on “Sporty Tuesday” on Animax.

“Supernatural Wednesday” is up next, which will showcase the hit live action paranormal series Supernatural. A creepy drama from the U.S. featuring the escapades of teen ghost-hunters, its silken blend of action, drama, mystery with a dash of science fiction is pure entertainment on Animax. In addition, Blood+, the action horror anime series based on the cult movie hit, will feature loads of exciting vampire battles with plenty of sword fights to thrill any fans of action horror.

Viewers can also look forward to more innovative programming in the months ahead, with the introduction of “Wacky Thursday”, which features a host of light-hearted comedies to bring enjoyment and laughter on Thursdays, and “Futuristic Friday”, which contains series with deep and conflicting themes to intrigue the mind. The programming line-up of themed nights from Mondays to Fridays are devised for viewers´ convenience and to advocate appointment viewing on Animax, where all series on the respective days reflect its moniker.
